GENERAL

When high levels of kryptopyrrole circulate in the body, it binds with Vitamin B6 and zinc causing them to be depleted faster and preventing their use in the brain and body. A high incidence of this is demonstrated in autism spectrum disorders, AD(H)D, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, alcoholism and down syndrome.

SPECIMEN REQUIREMENTS

Urine: 10 mL of urine collected and poured into an amber vial with ascorbic acid preservative. This test is available in the US only.

THIS TEST IS ALSO KNOWN AS:

What are Pyroles and What Can I Do?

Elevated pyroles are often associated with feelings of anxiety, exhaustion and
mood changes. Yeast overgrowth and parasites are common causes of high pyroles which can lead to anxiety, agitation, mood disorders, phobias, OCD-like behavior and sleep disturbances. Many with elevated pyroles feel better once their gut, hormones and nutritional status are supported.

A healthy gut will resist absorbing pyroles and will contain bacteria that break
down pyroles to further protect the body. Pyroles may be a natural defense
mechanism to gut toxins like acetaldehydes, alcohol, cresol and ammonia which are excessively produced by fungal, parasitic and bacterial pathogens. Without the natural core microbiome, these pathogens easily invade. The goal of optimal
wellness is to restore the natural core microbiome.

The microbiome is our collection of microbes and their DNA which live on our
mucosa surfaces all over the human body (sinuses, ears, nose, throat, mouth, gut, bowels, vagina, skin).

Circulating levels of pyrroles may be slightly elevated or profoundly abnormal.
In all cases, these levels rise even more when the pyroluric person is stressed out physically or mentally. If you are B6 and zinc deficient, you may also identify with some of the following signs of hyper pyroluria (HPU). If you score 12 or more on the survey below, it will be worth your while to be lab-tested for pyroluria and consider the Gut Class at The Gut Institute, and begin needed biochemical and cellular repair.
